General Class sessions

The four session free amateur radio general class will begin 1 February, at 1 p.m. at the Lake Havasu Mohave County Library.  We plan to be done by 4 p.m. but have the room until 4:30 if we run a little late.  The next three sessions will be at the same time and location on 22 February, 1 March and finish on 14 March.  This course will be focused on the material required to pass the General Class Test.  The organization will be  as presented in the 2023 Edition of the ARRL General Class License Manual.  It will NOT be a question by question review of the material as students can do that at home with free software.  Spreading the class sessions out over 6 weeks gives students plenty of time to practice the questions after seeing the class material.  At this time we don’t know if there will be a fall general class, so if interested in upgrading this may be your best opportunity for 2025.  Also for those working on their technician license, there is some overlap between the two exams with the general of course being a little more comprehensive and challenging.  Sitting in on a general class may be to your advantage, even if you may not be ready to take the general test when the course is over.  On the other hand, a person can take the technician test AND (assuming they pass) immediate take the general test at the same test session with no additional fee.  If they pass both, they will get general privileges on their initial amateur  license.
